American business executive and geopolitical analyst Cyrus Janssen claims that Israel is deeply isolating itself as the world unites against its ongoing illegal occupation of Palestinian territory and aggressive building of Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
In a 15-minute video presentation, Janssen stated that, during a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in December, 172 nations supported the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. These nations make up 94 percent of the world’s population.
Meanwhile, the four nations that voiced their opposition – Israel, the United States, Micronesia and Nauru – only make up four percent of the global population.
The 10 nations that chose not to take any sides – Cameroon, Guatemala, Kiribati, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, South Sudan, Togo, Tonga and Tuvalu – make up the remaining two percent. (Related: Israel-Hamas war will continue until rights are recognized – analyst.)
Moreover, a February poll indicates that, despite being close allies with the U.S., two-thirds of American voters support a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, including solid majorities among Democrats, Republicans and independents.
“Israel’s very existence has never been more threatened than right now, not by Hamas, which lacks the means to defeat Israel militarily, but by its own actions. Israeli leaders and diplomats must stop shouting that critics are all anti-Semites and listen to what the world is actually saying,” Janssen said.
Commentators from the Munich Security Conference, where representatives from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and other organizations gather, support the idea that Israel is becoming more internationally isolated, even from its friends and allies.
Janssen also discussed how Israel has greatly exaggerated the damage done by Hamas during its Oct. 7 terrorist attack and used it as a pretext to justify the “complete destruction of Gaza.”
According to him, in all the years of Hamas’ rule in Gaza since 2007, the group has never captured Israeli territory, let alone posed a significant threat to Israel’s existence or survival.
Janssen also suggests that the October 7 attack by Hamas was not due to an improvement in its capabilities but rather a failure in Israeli security.
There are reports in Israeli media stating that while Hamas did commit many atrocities during the attack, some of the most severe claims alleged by Israel did not actually happen, and these fabricated incidents were used to increase public hatred for Hamas and shore up support for the destruction of Gaza.
Additionally, Janssen claims that some Israeli deaths on that day were caused by the Israeli military themselves, using intense crossfire and tank shells to intentionally destroy a house where Hamas fighters held Israeli hostages, resulting in the deaths of almost everyone inside.
Janssen accused Israeli leaders of using the Hamas attack as a rationale for what he described as a “genocidal intent” to completely destroy Gaza and solidify control over the entire region. He referenced quotes from Israeli leaders, including statements by Mayor David Azoulai, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, expressing a desire to empty and flatten the Gaza Strip.
“Gaza won’t return to what it was before. We will eliminate everything,” Gallant said.
